Welcome to the Jobcenter section.
This section was created to make access to the most important Jobcenter topics easier, clearer, and easier to understand – especially when language, structure, digital procedures, or uncertainty make the next step more difficult.
At the beginning, many people do not know:
- which office is responsible for them,
- what the difference is between the Jobcenter and the Employment Agency,
- which benefits they may be able to receive,
- which obligations they need to observe,
- which documents they should prepare,
- or how to use messages, appointments, and online services correctly.
This is exactly what this section is here to help with.
Here you will find step-by-step structured content on important topics such as:
- Overview
- Citizen’s Benefit
- First Application
- Renewal Application
- Report a Change
- Upload Documents
- Messages & Appointments
- Find Work
- Find Local Support
- Jobcenter App
- Official Links
- Video
Our goal is not to replace official offices, but to make access to official information, digital services, and local contact points easier to understand.
On the individual pages in this section, we show you, among other things:
- what a page is intended for,
- when it is the right page for you,
- what you should prepare before taking the official step,
- which important German terms you should know,
- which typical misunderstandings exist,
- and which official link is useful for the next step.
We also want to support people in finding their way in Germany more easily – not only with applications and appointments, but also in understanding everyday life, official procedures, and their own next steps toward stability, orientation, training, or work.
Later, this will also include helpful guidance on:
- applications and CVs
- writing job applications
- basic digital skills
- official ways to search for work
- as well as supportive advice centers
Note for the future:
GETAXS will also build additional helpful sections in the future, including learning, digital basics, office programs, AI tools, and free course offers.
If freely accessible or useful learning offers from third-party providers are available, such links may later be collected, organized, and provided for orientation.
GETAXS does not represent these providers and does not take responsibility for their content, changes, availability, or conditions.

Important note:
GETAXS is not a government authority and does not represent any public office. This content is provided only for orientation, language simplification, and easier access to official information, digital services, and supportive offers.
If you want to apply for official benefits, report changes, attend appointments, or receive decisions, this always happens exclusively through the responsible official offices and their original services.
Additional help may also be useful – depending on the situation – through official or recognized advice and support centers.
This help is free of charge and is intended to support people in finding the right path more easily.
